RIBOSOMES vs. PA SYSTEM

SIMILARITIES!

One of the functions of the ribosome is to relay information which are crucial for protein synthesis (production of proteins). This is similar to the the Public Announcement System (PA system) of the airport, which is the only way for the staff of the Airport to pass information to the people in the airport within the shortest possible time and is especially crucial in times of emergency in order to notify everyone on what they should do.

The ribosomes relay information for protein synthesis directly from the nucleus, also known as the 'headquarters' of a cell. Similarly, the PA system transmits information directly from the control tower, which is compared to the nucleus as the 'headquarters' of the airport.

DIFFERENCES!

One difference is that while PA systems are found all over the airport, ribosomes are mainly concentrated around the nucleus and endoplasmic reticulum.

Another one is that although PA systems only relay information, while ribosomes both produce and transmit them.

Also, ribosomes make 'information' in the form of proteins, while PA systems make use of electronic technology and waves to transmit the information.
