VACUOLE vs. FOOD STORAGE WAREHOUSE

SIMILARITIES!

The vacuole functions as a storage organelle which stores many types of molecules. The storage system of the Airport stores many products as well, and these products are mainly due for exporting. This is similar to the vacuole of the cell as the vacuole is also in charge of facilitating the export of unwanted substances from the cell.

Hence, both of them function as a place of storage and to facilitate exportation of the “unwanted” products.

DIFFERENCES!

One way in which the vacuole is different from a food storage warehouse is that the vacuole only stores one kind of food (starch), while the food storage warehouse stores many different varieties of food, from preserved vegetables to frozen meat.

Another one would be that a function of the vacuole is to provide and maintain cellular structure. However, the food storage warehouse does not give structure to the airport, nor does it maintain it.
